Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) for commercial needs is beneficial in many ways. This process will allow utilities to be placed across large spans of roadway without the need to close it down to traffic. HDD allows for underground work to be placed much deeper, where conventional trenching could require the need to open a large and sometimes dangerous hole. Most of all, compared to trenching, HDD is much less disruptive to the surrounding areas while work is being completed.
